ASP MP3 Lister By Smo This free asp script will gather mp3 ID3v1 and ID3v1.1 TAG info for all mp3s in a directory and create a table with the TAG information. The script can also write an asp page containing the table that you can use on your site as a separate page or as an include file. Because the script takes a good deal of computing power to read in the mp3 files its best to run the application on your own server (works with personal web server as well as IIS) and then upload the created asp page to your web server. You don't want to put the stress on your web server if you don't have to. Also be aware that many web site hosts do not allow mp3 files on their servers. If I get enough requests I will add support for ID3v2 tags, but because encoders are still supporting ID3v1 and ID3v1.1 tags along with the ID3v2 tags its not really necessary. If you find the genre listing not matching the results of other mp3 tag readers you might have please let me know. The genre list I used I found at this web site .
